Simi is a master’s-level clinician in training at the University of Denver, where she is studying clinical psychology with concentrations in trauma, global mental health, and family therapy. She works with adolescents, young adults, couples, immigrants, and individuals navigating the perinatal period, including pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood. Her clinical interests include adolescent development, life transitions, relationship challenges, identity development, complex parenting, grief, and healing attachment wounds.
Simi has previous experience working in The Family Support Clinic, where she worked closely with parents of children with severe and persistent mental illness. This experience informs her understanding of family systems, parenting dynamics, and the ways relationships shape emotional well-being across the lifespan. She has also served as a speaker for the National Alliance on Mental Illness, providing psychoeducation on mental health and trauma to adolescent audiences.
Simi takes a trauma-informed and culturally responsive approach to therapy, recognizing the impact of lived experiences, relationships, and broader systemic factors on each person’s story. She maintains a strengths-based perspective and integrates an understanding of attachment, family systems, and identity in her work.
Simi strives to create a therapeutic space that is collaborative, respectful, and grounded in authenticity. She meets clients where they are, honoring their experiences and identities, and creates space for a full range of emotional experiences. She is honored to walk alongside clients through moments of challenge and meaning.
Her approach is integrative, drawing from Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment-based and relational frameworks, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), which she tailors to meet the needs of each client.
