Dr. Yoshino is a doctoral-level psychologist and child and family therapist with extensive experience supporting children, adolescents, and families. Previously an elementary school teacher with a master's degree in education, she earned her PhD in School Psychology from the University of Denver and has trained in a variety of settings, including multiple private practices and a clinical internship in Denver Public Schools. Through this diverse experience, she has developed a deep understanding of both clinical care and the educational systems that impact children every day.

Dr. Yoshino is passionate about helping families understand the why behind their child’s behavior. She believes that all behavior is communication and works to uncover the needs beneath the surface, helping caregivers respond with clarity, connection, and compassion. Her approach is grounded in supporting emotional growth—helping children build the skills to understand, express, and manage their big feelings in healthy, developmentally appropriate ways.

In her therapy practice, Dr. Yoshino specializes in working with children and adolescents experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, perfectionism, trauma, and challenges related to giftedness and twice-exceptionality. She also offers parent coaching rooted in Positive Discipline and emotion-focused strategies, helping families grow stronger, more confident, and more connected.

Dr. Yoshino also provides comprehensive psychological assessments using a therapeutic and trauma-informed approach. Her evaluations are strengths-based, culturally humble, and designed to help children and families feel seen, understood, and empowered. She conducts assessments for giftedness, learning disorders, neurodevelopmental conditions (such as ADHD), and mood and anxiety-related concerns, always with a focus on providing clear, practical recommendations that support children at home and at school.

With specialized training in special education and disability law, Dr. Yoshino brings a unique lens to her work. She understands how legal frameworks such as IDEA and Section 504 impact educational access and services for children with disabilities, including those who are twice-exceptional. She offers consultation for parents navigating special education supports in public schools, helping families advocate effectively for their child’s needs within the educational system.

Whether through therapy, assessment, or consultation, Dr. Yoshino is committed to partnering with families to foster resilience, connection, and long-term emotional well-being, with a deep belief in every child’s strengths and potential.
