Dr. Jacqueline Jacobs Tynan is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in therapy and assessment for individuals, parents, families, and children. She approaches psychotherapy with warmth and a relational focus, integrating mindfulness-based and cognitive-behavioral techniques as appropriate. Grounded in an attachment-based perspective, Dr. Tynan helps clients explore how past experiences shape current behaviors and relationships.
She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Tulane University and both her Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver’s Graduate School of Professional Psychology (GSPP). Dr. Tynan received specialized training in Infant Mental Health during her pre-doctoral internship with the Right Start for Infant Mental Health team and completed a postdoctoral fellowship through the Harris Fellowship in Perinatal, Infant and Early Childhood at CU Anschutz.
Dr. Tynan has worked in a variety of clinical settings, including schools, hospitals, outpatient community mental health centers, residential treatment programs, and private practice. Her clinical interests include perinatal and postpartum mental health, infancy and early childhood, parenting, family conflict, and trauma. She is deeply committed to supporting individuals and families navigating complex life circumstances and relational challenges.
She has advanced training in evidence-based interventions such as Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and brings significant experience working with families involved in the child welfare system. In addition, Dr. Tynan is passionate about training and workforce development. Through her partnerships with Connecting the Dots, Colorado, and Postpartum Support International (PSI), Dr. Tynan leads training to promote workforce capacity to understand and treat perinatal substance use.
