Dr. Alissa Wolsky is a postdoctoral fellow who recently earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology with an emphasis in child development. She has worked across a variety of clinical settings, including community mental health centers, non-public schools, and residential treatment programs, with a strong focus on supporting children, adolescents, and families navigating emotional, behavioral, and relational challenges.

Alissa specializes in child and family therapy, drawing from evidence-based practices including Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), play-based modalities, and trauma-informed care. She is passionate about fostering secure, nurturing relationships and helping children feel safe, seen, and empowered through developmentally sensitive interventions.

Alissa’s therapeutic approach is grounded in attachment theory, with the goal of strengthening familial bonds and deepening emotional connection within the parent-child relationship. She works collaboratively with caregivers to support co-regulation, build trust, and create consistent, responsive environments that promote lasting change. Alissa also integrates third-wave cognitive behavioral approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to enhance coping skills, emotional awareness, and resilience in the face of stressors.

In addition to her clinical work, Alissa has developed and facilitated community-based workshops on child abuse prevention, body safety education, and support for adult survivors of childhood trauma. She has led psychoeducational programming for parents and caregivers to promote protective factors, enhance communication, and build safe, empowered family systems. Alissa has also provided trauma-informed therapy to families healing from complex trauma, helping caregivers rebuild trust and strengthen attachment in the aftermath of adversity. She is committed to expanding access to trauma-informed care and supporting families in underserved and high-need communities.

Alongside her therapy experience, Alissa has advanced training in psychological and psychoeducational assessment. She is particularly passionate about the Rorschach Performance Assessment System (R-PAS) and is committed to using multi-method, culturally responsive assessment practices to support diagnostic clarity and individualized treatment planning. She enjoys working collaboratively with families to help them better understand their child’s strengths and needs.

Alissa believes deeply in the power of play, relationships, and attuned assessment to promote healing and growth. She brings warmth, curiosity, and intention to her work and is dedicated to helping children and families thrive.
